The DINZLER story began back in the 1950s as coffee was becoming the national drink of the German people. Therefore, Otto Dinzler decided to found a coffee roasting house in this hometown of Bischofswiesen in Berchtesgadener Land. His son Klaus took over the coffee roasting house in 1962 with the intention of roasting solely the finest gourmet coffee. Klaus Dinzler sold his coffee to surrounding restaurants, and as one of the first coffee roasters of southern Bavaria he looked for the collaboration of coffee machine makers such as WMF and Franke. In the course of this cooperation he came into contact with Franz Richter who, at that time, was still working as a representative of WMF in the coffee machine sector. Together they optimised the espresso “Il Gustoso” which had been developed by Klaus and was one of the first types of espresso to be roasted in Germany. In 1998 Isolde Richter took over Klaus Dinzler’s coffee roasting house. Two years later, the family business moved from Bischofswiesen to Rosenheim. The coffee roasting house was made experienceable through a simple brilliant concept: as a visitor you should be able enjoy your coffee at the bar in the roasting plant where it has been roasted, and purchase freshly roasted coffee from the bean shop to take home with you.
The new construction at the DINZLER coffee roasting plant at Irschenberg, which serves as the company’s head office, was completed in 2009. In addition to the roasting plant and the administration there is a restaurant- the heart of the new building. The experience and insights we have gained as restaurateurs find their way into all the DINZLER products and services. Since 2018 we have been inviting people to the new otto building, which is named after the founder of the DINZLER coffee roasting house, to regular culinary and cultural events. The events location with a total area of 1000 square metres which, includes a garden and an orangery, can be hired for exclusive events and seminars.
